Ptakowice (German: Ptakowitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Zbrosławice (Broslawitz) in the powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

Ptakowice is three kilometers east of Zbrosławice , seven kilometers southwest of the district town of Tarnowskie Góry ( Tarnowitz ) and 25 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice ( Kattowitz ).

The place is on the Drama River .

history

The place originated in the 13th century at the latest and was mentioned in a document from 1295–1305 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis ( Tithe Register of the Diocese of Breslau ) as "Ptacovitz".

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Beytrage describing Silesia as Ptakowi (t) z , belonged to a Herr von Rymultowski and was in the district of Beuthen and had 165 inhabitants, a farm, 16 farmers, 18 gardeners, seven cottagers and a mill. In 1818 the place was mentioned as Ptakowitz . In 1822 Galmei was found on the site of the Dominium, and the Richard, Rochus and Arnold pit of the Liswitz heirs, the Adolf pit of Mr. Wolf von Michalkowitz and the providence pit of the Kramsta councilor were built to promote it. In 1865 Ptakowitz consisted of a dominium (domain) and a village. The estate belonged to a Mr. Rehmisch and it had a brandy distillery and a brick factory. At that time the village had eight farmers and 45 cottagers together with the Gorniki colony, the provision pit was the only one still in operation. Most of the villagers were miners. The village was parish and schooled in Alt-Repten.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 48 eligible voters voted to remain in Germany and 208 to belong to Poland. At the Ptakowitz estate, 21 people voted for Germany and 48 for Poland. Ptakowitz remained with the German Reich and was part of the Tarnowitz district until 1922 . In 1936 the place was part of Dramatal and renamed Dramatal-Ost . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Beuthen-Tarnowitz .

In 1945 the until then German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Ptakowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship .
