Copiesica (German: Koppinitz ) is a town in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Zbrosławice (Broslawitz) in the powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

Copiesica is located nine kilometers northwest of the municipality Zbrosławice , 16 kilometers west of the district town Tarnowskie Góry ( Tarnowitz ) and 34 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice ( Katowice ).

history

The place was created in the 13th century at the latest and was first mentioned in a document as "Copinicza" in 1295–1305 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis ( Tithe Register of the Diocese of Wroclaw ).

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Beytrage describing Silesia as a Koppiniz and had three farms, a Catholic church, a school, 19 farmers, 14 gardeners , a few cottagers and 198 residents. In 1818 the place was mentioned as Koppinitz . In 1865 Koppinitz consisted of a manor and a village. The Vorwerke Kopacz and Adelenhof belonged to the manor. At that time the village had eleven farmer positions, one three-quarter farmer, twelve half-farmer, five quarter farmer, 13 gardener positions, two half-gardener, 23 cottage-owner positions and a samol mill. The village also included the Neudorf colony and the Krassow colony.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 89 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 241 for membership in Poland. Koppinitz remained with the German Empire . In 1936 the place was renamed Adelenhof . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Copiesice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship . On January 1, 2013, the place name was changed tokopica .
