Bradley Whitford
Bradley Whitford (born October 10, 1959 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is an American film actor and screenwriter . He played the lead role of Josh Lyman in The West Wing from 1999 to 2006 .
Life
Whitford, who grew up in a modest home, attended after 1977, Madison East High School was completed, the Wesleyan University in Middletown , Connecticut , where he Theater Studies and English literature studied.
Upon graduation, in 1981, Whitford attended the prestigious Juilliard School and received his diploma. Shortly thereafter, in 1985, he made his film debut in an episode of the television series The Equalizer . Since then, Whitford has often shown skill in the selection of his films, some of which are still very well known today.
Between 1999 and 2006 he was one of the leading actors in the political series The West Wing - In the center of power in front of the camera, and received, among other things, three Golden Globe and three Emmy nominations . Whitford won an Emmy in 2001. He also wrote the scripts for two episodes of The West Wing .
In 2015 Whitford received an Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in the television series Transparent . He won another Emmy in 2019 for the guest role of Commander Joseph Lawrence in the series The Handmaid's Tale - The Maid's Report .
Since August 15, 1992 he was married to the film actress Jane Kaczmarek , who plays the role of Lois for Malcolm in the middle . The marriage resulted in three children. On June 19, 2009, Whitford and Kaczmarek filed for divorce.
He has been contributing to The Huffington Post since 2005 .
