The Brandenburg Court Organization Act of December 19, 2011 regulates the seat and the district of the courts of ordinary jurisdiction and the public prosecutor's offices of the State of Brandenburg. It came into force on April 1, 2012 and replaced the Brandenburg District Court District Act of December 8, 1992 and the Brandenburg Court Reorganization Act of June 14, 1993.
prehistory
The first law that regulated the seat and district of ordinary courts in the state of Brandenburg was the law on the restructuring of the district court districts in the state of Brandenburg (Brandenburg District Court District Act - BbgKrGBG) of December 8, 1992 ( GVBl. I p. 486 ). The district and district courts that still existed at that time were structured as follows with effect from January 1, 1993:
The district courts Calau (in Lübbenau), Cottbus-Stadt , Cottbus-Land , Finsterwalde , Forst , Gransee (in Zehdenick), Herzberg , Luckau , Spremberg , Angermünde , Beeskow , Seelow , Belzig , Jüterbog , Kyritz , Potsdam-Stadt , Potsdam- Land , Pritzwalk , Templin and Wittstock , however, were dissolved at the end of 1992.
The Brandenburg Court Reorganization Act (BbgGerNeuOG) proclaims as Article 1 of the Act on the Reorganization of Ordinary Jurisdiction and the Implementation of the Courts Constitution Act in the State of Brandenburg of June 14, 1993 ( GVBl. I p. 198 ), the continuation of the existing district courts as of December 1, 1993 Local courts, the continuation of the district courts in Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam as regional courts and the establishment of another regional court in Neuruppin. The districts of the regional courts determined by this law were the same as when the Brandenburg Court Organization Act came into force , with the exception of the Guben District Court assigned to the Cottbus District Court , which has been a branch of the Cottbus District Court since April 1, 2012. The determination of the district court districts, however, was still the responsibility of the Brandenburg District Court District Act, so that this also remained in force until the Brandenburg Court Organization Act was introduced.
