The Postal Rothstein is an Outbound hilltop castle on the 583.1  m above sea level. NHN high "Altenberg" about 650 south-southwest of the church of Burggrub near Zoggendorf , districts of the Heiligenstadt market in Upper Franconia in the Bamberg district in Bavaria .

The castle, which was the ministerial seat of the noble free von Schlüsselberg, was built around 1200 and the castle area was first named in 1275. In 1349 the castle itself was named, but it was already destroyed.

Only a moat with a rampart remains from the former castle complex.
