Caroline Redl (* 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German actress .

Life

Caroline Redl was born as the daughter of the actor and director Wolf Redl , who died in 2010 . This in turn is a stepbrother of the actor Christian Redl . At the age of 13, Caroline Redl was on stage for the first time in the Bremen Theater, later also together with her father at the Berlin Schaubühne . Also as a teenager, she appeared in front of the camera for the first time in 1981 in the film The Moon Shines on Kylenamoe .

Redl graduated from high school in 1984 and began studying theater history at the Berlin University of the Arts the following year . She then went on to study acting at London University in London . In 1988 Redl went to Paris, where he attended the Le Studio Jack Garfein drama school run by the actor and director of the same name . In 2004 she took the subject "Filmmaking" at the New York Tish School of Arts.

During her studies in Berlin, Caroline Redl made her film debut in 1985 in the English-language production Maschenka based on the novel by Vladimir Nabokov . During her multiple stays in Great Britain she also took part in productions there, for example in the soap opera EastEnders and in eleven episodes of the series Jupiter Moon . In Germany Redl was repeatedly seen in the award-winning strip as the movie Children of the Street of Urs Egger or Markus Imboden's drama Ironically Zoé . Redl herself received the Bern Film Prize in 1993 for her performance in the film All about Love . She had a leading role in Kiss Me! by Maris Pfeiffer , in 1991 she played the title character in the Tatort episode Tini . In 2000, alongside Bruno Ganz, she was involved in a project by Clemens Klopfenstein called WerAngstWolf , in which artists recite classical theater texts in various locations.

In addition, Redl also works for radio, in the early 1990s she worked as a spokesperson for Bayerischer Rundfunk and speaks in TV productions.

Aside from acting, Caroline Redl is the founder of the coaching studio in Berlin and practices Aikido . She lives in Berlin.
