Certara was until 13 April 2013 municipality in the county Sonvico , district Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

The former municipalities of Bogno , Certara, Cimadera and Valcolla now belong to the new Lugano district of Val Colla .

geography

The former municipality is 1013 meters above sea level. M. 1 km east of Colla and 13 km north of Lugano in the upper part of Val Colla , west of the Monte Cucco mountain and borders on Italy .

history

First documented mention in 1264 as Certara . In the first half of the 15th century, the village had to provide the Duke of Milan with 28 soldiers and war material. At that time it was already a municipality, although in 1473 people still speak of the municipality of Colla and Certara.
