Artistic work

Numerous solo exhibitions and participation in exhibitions by the artist have taken place. Furthermore, works by Christian Hörl can be viewed in public spaces . He is represented with several works in the H2 - Center for Contemporary Art in Augsburg.

In 2003/2004 he attracted increased attention with the project From inside and out , which he carried out together with his artist colleagues Waltraud Funk and Gerhart Kindermann . In this "interactive project" both prisoners from the newly built penitentiary in Kempten (Allgäu) and the public were involved. Anne-Cecile Foulon from the Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren wrote: “The artwork by Waltraud Funk, Christian Hörl and Gerhart Kindermann continues the tradition of process art and ' social sculpture '. Like Joseph Beuys in the past, the three artists encourage people to be creative, encourage them to activate their senses, to translate their perception of their surroundings into a work of art and to reflect on it further. ”A 22 × 2 m screen was created for the prisoners' dining room, an exhibition in the Hofgarten Hall of the Kempten Residence , which also houses the regional court, and a book with reports from the inmates on their situation and a selection of pictures.
