Christoph Sandner (born February 19, 1971 in Landsberg ) is a former German ice hockey player (striker) who was under contract in his last year as a professional at EHC Munich in the 2nd Bundesliga .
Career
Sandner began his career in the 1988/89 season at EV Landsberg in the 2nd Bundesliga , where he was under contract until the 1990/91 season .
For the 1991/92 season Sandner then moved to the Cologne EC in the Bundesliga , where he played until the 1993/94 season before he decided to switch to league rivals SB Rosenheim during the season . In his first year in Cologne, Sandner was also used once at EV Füssen in the 2nd League South.
At the beginning of the 1994/95 season Sandner signed a contract for the DEL with the Maddogs Munich , which he had to leave again during the season due to their bankruptcy, whereupon he joined the SC Riessersee in the 1st League South.
With the SC Riessersee he was promoted to the DEL in the 1994/95 season , but was relegated in the 1995/96 season . Sandner played at SC Riessersee until the 1998/99 season before joining the Hamburg Crocodiles in the 2nd Bundesliga at the beginning of the 1999/00 season.
The following year, the 2000/01 season , Sandner returned to the DEL and spent a year with the Augsburg Panthers before playing with the Frankfurt Lions between 2001 and 2003 .
At the request of Doug Bradley, the then coach of SC Riessersee, Sandner was committed for the 2003/04 season . There Sandner made only four games due to the bankruptcy of SC Riessersee Eishockey-Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbH before he returned to the DEL to end the season at EHC Freiburg .
In the 2004/05 season Sandner then played for his home club, the EV Landsberg, in the Bayernliga before moving to the EHC Munich for the 2005/06 season, where he ended his active career.
Internationally, Sandner was in the squad at the U18 European Championship in 1989, at the U20 World Championship in 1990 , 1991 and at the Men's World Championship in 1998 .
