Christopher Tordini

Christopher "Chris" Tordini (born April 25, 1984 ) is an American jazz bassist (also vocals , percussion ).

Live and act

Tordini studied in the Jazz and Contemporary Music Program at New School University , a. a. with Rory Stuart , Ari Hoenig and George Garzone , with whom he also appeared. After graduating in 2006, he became a member of Andy Milnes' band Dapp Theory (album Layers of Chance , 2008); since then he has also worked a. a. with Greg Osby , Jeremy Pelt , Jim Black , Andrew D'Angelo , Yaron Herman ( Follow the White Rabbit , 2010), Logan Richardson , Becca Stevens / Gretchen Parlato ( Earthquake / Tsunami Relief , Sunnyside , 2009), Matt Mitchell and Jean- Michel Pilc .

In the field of jazz, he was involved in 54 recording sessions between 2007 and 2019. He has also worked on recordings by Billy Hart ( Sixty-Eight , 2009), Okkyung Lee ( Noisy Love Songs , 2010), Tyshawn Sorey ( Oblique-I , 2011) and The Claudia Quintet ( September , 2013). In 2013 he also worked with Kris Davis , Michael Dessen , Erik Friedlander , Tigran Hamasyan and Chris Speed , later also with Gerald Cleaver ( Live at Firehouse 12 ) and with Angelika Niescier , Gerald Cleaver and Jonathan Finlayson . The textbook (with CD) First Lessons Upright Bass was created under his own name .
