Cliff Richard / discography

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cliff Richard, 2013

This discography is an overview of the musical works of the British pop - singer Cliff Richard . He is considered to be the most successful British singer of all time and is the only artist who has managed to land a number one hit in the British charts for five decades in a row. According to his record company, the number of records he has sold is “in the three-digit million range”.

Cliff Richard began his career in the late 1950s as a rock and roll singer with his backing band, the Shadows (original name Drifters ). In the mid-1960s, he increasingly published solo recordings. He also recorded a number of songs in other languages; In German alone there are over 50 recordings, two of which reach number 1 in the German charts. According to sources and record awards, he has sold more than 14.6 million records in his career, including over 13.2 million in his home country alone. Cliff Richard's most successful sound carrier in Great Britain is the best-of album Private Collection: 1979–1988 with around 1,200,000 units sold. The song The Young Ones from 1962 is his best-selling single with over a million copies sold. The song Devil Woman also sold over a million copies internationally, mainly in North America. In November 2013, the singer released his 100th official album.
