Geographical location
Coplin is centrally located in Franklin County. The South Branch of the Dead River flows north through the northwest corner of the area and flows into Flagstaff Lake in the Town of Eustis . There are no lakes or other bodies of water in the Coplin area. The surface is rather flat, the highest point is the 595 m high Hedgehog Hill .

history
As a plantation, the area was initially founded as Jackson Plantation in 1845 , together with area T2 R3 WBKP , today Long Township , and area T1 R4 WBKP , today the Town of Eustis. In 1866 the first organization took place as a coplin plantation to give the residents the right to vote. The Coplin Plantation was organized on March 10, 1893 and reorganized on March 5, 1895. Originally, the area belonged to the township T1 R3 WBKP .

The Maine State Route 16 extends in the north-east direction and Maine State Route 27 in a north-westerly direction by the area of Coplin. Both lead to Eustis in the north.
