New Vineyard is a town in Franklin County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there lived 757 inhabitants in 325 households on an area of 93.81 km².

Geographical location
New Vineyard is located in southeast Franklin County. It borders Somerset County to the north and east . To the west, Porter Lake extends over the town area. Smaller lakes in the Town area are Bauds Pond , Mill Pond and Lily Pond . The surface is hilly, the highest point being the 638 m high Griffin Mountain .

history
The New Vineyard area was purchased by a group of Massachusetts people who also owned Martha's Vineyard Island . The area also bore the name New Vineyard when it came to organizing a plantation. The area was settled from 1791 by Daniel Collins and Abner Norton, who moved there with their families. The town was founded in 1802.

The Maine State Route 27 runs north-south through the area of the Town. To the west in the amount of branches Porter Lakes , the Maine State Route 234 , and a little further north then east.

There are no medical facilities in New Vineyard. The closest are in Farmington and Madison.
New Vineyard has its own library. The New Vineyard Public Library is on Lake Street.
