The 1953 Coronation Cup (German: Coronation Cup ) was a one-off football tournament that was held in Glasgow in honor of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation . Four English and four Scottish teams took part in May 1953. Celtic Glasgow and Hibernian Edinburgh advanced to the finals in Hampden Park . Celtic's victory made her the unofficial British champion.
