After his lecture, Ryan finds an envelope with a riddle, how the killer used to give the police, and Carla Bromwell's driver's license. When their body is found shortly thereafter, Ryan is convinced that the "Keystone Killer" has returned. However, this seems to have changed his approach significantly.

But the vacation is canceled because Elle is arrested for murder and Gideon is sent the head of a corpse. When the rest of the team receives puzzling mail, it becomes clear that this is all the work of a psychopath who wants to play a game with them. He kidnapped a woman and expects the profilers to find her in time, based on the clues he's given them.

Investigators try to use this to play the two psychopaths against each other.

Captured by the perpetrator, he finds out the motive for his actions: The psychopath has three personalities, his own, that of the archangel Raphael , who committed the murders, and that of his father, who tormented him as a child. The latter represent the dominant personalities. While the son tries to help Reid by giving him analgesic drugs and Raphael looks for a vice at Reid to have a reason to kill him, the remaining members of the BAU compete against the Time.

Season 15

The first broadcast of the 15th season was from January 8 to February 19, 2020 on the US broadcaster CBS . The first nine episodes in German were broadcast by the Swiss free TV channel TV25 from March 22, 2020 to August 16, 2020. The last episode of the series was shown by the German pay TV channel Sat.1 emotions as a double episode with the penultimate one Follow on August 18, 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Germany also had an impact on the broadcast of the 15th season. Since work on the synchronization had to be canceled, only five of the ten episodes could be completed by the end of April 2020. In addition - possibly also because episodes 318 ("Saturday") and 320 ("The Last Date") relate to each other in terms of content - the 320th episode was dubbed before the 319th episode, so that for the first time in the history of the series in Germany as well as in Austria and Switzerland the original order of broadcasting is deviated and in these countries the 318th episode is followed by the 320th episode.
