Prototype pony

The DAF Pony was a pickup truck made by the Dutch manufacturer DAF , 700 of which were built between 1968 and 1969.

The pony was the result of a development for a failed tender by the US Army. The project was ultimately awarded to an American company, and the plans resulted in the DAF Pony. It was equipped with a modified 2-cylinder boxer engine and the Variomatic of the DAF 44 . Flatbed trucks and tractor units were built . The pony could not meet the high expectations and was discontinued because of the disappointing sales figures.
