The DAF Tropco 400/650 kN is a military truck from DAF for the Dutch army. DAF produced 112 of these tractor units with 102 trailers . The combination with the special trailers has been in service since 2005. The Tropco was first built as a prototype in 2003 based on the DAF XF95 and in 2005 the first vehicles were delivered to the Dutch army. Its main job is to transport tanks such as the Leopard 2 and self-propelled howitzers . The DAF XF95 has been adapted to the military requirements and is equipped with additional armor from Plasan , which offers protection against handguns , fragments of grenades and mines . There is space for the driver and three passengers in the driver's cab . Since 2007, some copies have been used on loan by the Canadian Army in the Afghanistan war .
