DAF torpedo
The DAF Torpedo is a long- nosed truck from the Dutch truck manufacturer DAF , which was first introduced by DAF in 1957 as the DAF 12/15 to meet the demand of conservative customers.
DAF had indeed already Frontlenker had -Truck in the program, the more cargo space available, this design was but was still controversial and not yet available in most other manufacturers. Initially, DAF only offered a chassis for bodies with one gasoline and one diesel engine each, later a separate cabin was developed for the 12/15. In 1965 the DAF 18 replaced the model. In 1980 the DAF NAT / NTT (N2800 series) followed, the cabin of which was from the four-man club .
A new DAF torpedo has been available since 2012. This is based on the DAF XF and was developed by the Eindhoven-based DAF dealer De Burgh and the building materials and recycling transport company Jansen. The model is built on individual order from De Burgh.
