The DAF MB200 was a bus - the chassis , the DAF in 1965 as a successor introduced in 1958 the DAF TB160 introduced chassis. The chassis was originally developed for the bus company Den Oudsten from Woerden and Hainje from Heerenveen and had placed between the front and rear axle central engine for good weight distribution. There were different chassis of the DAF MB200, most as DKDL600 and DKDL564 . The latter had a shorter wheelbase so that a wider entrance door was possible. The chassis was originally supplied with a Wilson GB340 semi-automatic transmission and a DAF 11.6 liter diesel engine . Later there were also automatic transmissions from Allison or ZF Friedrichshafen .
In addition to the MB 200 city bus , an extended MB230 coach chassis was built, which was also delivered to Great Britain and Ireland . At the time, coach chassis that were produced in continental Europe were still relatively rare.
In 1982, based on the MB200 underfloor engine chassis, a DAF MBG articulated bus came onto the market, which was replaced by the DAF SBG220 in 1988 . The SB220 chassis replaced the MB200 chassis and the MB230 chassis.
