from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The GDR biathlon championships were held for the 9th time in 1966 with two races each in Zinnwald (January 5th) and Oberhof (February 16). Egon Schnabel repeated his title win from the previous year in the individual competition over 20 kilometers. After a competition in the military patrol race and a relay competition for the first time in 1965, there was only one competition in individual in 1966.
