GDR championships in biathlon 1980

The GDR biathlon championships were held for the 22nd time in 1980 and took place in Oberhof from February 28th to March 2nd . Eberhard Rösch won his first and only individual title at GDR championships, Klaus Siebert won the sprint title for the third time and the fifth and final title in an individual race. The SG Dynamo Zinnwald won their 14th title in the relay competition and also the seventh consecutive title. Rösch and Siebert were each double champions.
