GDR championships in biathlon 1981

The GDR championships in biathlon were held for the 23rd time in 1981 and took place from March 12th to 15th in Oberwiesenthal . Both Frank Ullrich and Matthias Jacob won their first titles in individual races at GDR championships. After seven years without a win, ASK Vorwärts Oberhof was able to win the relay race title again. It was the second championship of the club relay. This made Ullrich and Jacob double champions.
