GDR championships in biathlon 1983

The GDR biathlon championships were held for the 25th time in 1983 and took place from March 3 to 6 in the Oberhof biathlon stadium on the Rennsteig . Frank Ullrich was for the third time in a row and at the same time for the last time in an individual race GDR individual champion. Frank-Peter Roetsch won the sprint and with it his first title in a single race. He also won with the relay and became double champion. SG Dynamo Zinnwald won the relay title for the first time after two years of abstinence.
