Düns is a municipality in Austria in Vorarlberg in the Feldkirch district with 407 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

Düns is located in the westernmost state of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the Feldkirch district at an altitude of 753 meters. 56.2% of the area is forested.

history

The village of Düns was first mentioned as Tunia in 842 at the latest .

The Habsburgs ruled the places in Vorarlberg alternately from Tyrol and Upper Austria ( Freiburg im Breisgau ). From 1805 to 1814 the place belonged to Bavaria, then again to Austria. Düns has belonged to the Austrian state of Vorarlberg since the establishment of the Vorarlberger Landtag in 1861. The place was part of the French zone of occupation in Austria from 1945 to 1955.

At the end of 2002 the proportion of foreigners in the municipality was 5.1%.
