Röns is a municipality in Austria in Vorarlberg in the Feldkirch district with 338 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). With a municipality area of ​​only 1.44 square kilometers, Röns is the smallest municipality in Vorarlberg in terms of area.

Röns is located in the westernmost state of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the Feldkirch district at an altitude of 610 meters. 36.8% of the area is forested.

history

The Habsburgs ruled the places in Vorarlberg alternately from Tyrol and Upper Austria (Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814 the place belonged to Bavaria, then again to Austria. For Austrian province of Vorarlberg Röns heard since its founding in 1861. The place was 1945-1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.
