German Association for Rehabilitation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Association for Rehabilitation (DVfR) is an interdisciplinary forum for rehabilitation in which experts from institutions and associations for rehabilitation and participation as well as people with disabilities can exchange ideas as "experts in their own right". The association based in Heidelberg is recognized as a non-profit association . The DVfR is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on the basis of a resolution by the German Bundestag .

The aim of the association is to develop unification processes and to find consensus among the various institutions and associations. The division into member groups, each representing institutions and people with different tasks, responsibilities and interests in the rehabilitation area, enables all groups to be equally involved and represented accordingly on the main board of the DVfR.

The association was founded on April 14, 1909 as the "German Association for Cripple Welfare" in Berlin. The Federal Minister for Labor and Social Affairs, Olaf Scholz, took over the patronage of the 100th anniversary of the association in April 2009 .
