Dale Mitchell (born April 9, 1989 in Etobicoke , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Odense Bulldogs in the Danish Metal Ligaen since 2020 .

Career

Dale Mitchell began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he was active from 2005 to 2010 for the Oshawa Generals and Windsor Spitfires . With the Windsor Spitfires he won the J. Ross Robertson Cup , the OHL championship title, and then the Memorial Cup , the final tournament for the Canadian Hockey League championship, in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons . During his time with the Oshawa Generals, the winger was also selected in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in the third round as the 74th player of the Toronto Maple Leafs . Having already from the 2007/08 season, in parallel with the game operation in the OHL for the farm team of the Maple Leafs, the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League had been used, the Canadians played in the 2010/11 season fixed for the Marlies, while he also completed seven games for their cooperation partner Reading Royals from the ECHL .

In the 2011/12 season , Mitchell was initially mainly used for the Royals in the ECHL. On February 27, 2012, the Toronto Maple Leafs transferred him to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Mark Fraser .

In May 2012 Mitchell took part in a training camp from Ilves Tampere , but received no contract and was signed in August 2012 by Dornbirner EC from Erste Bank Eishockey Liga . Mitchell was there in the 2012/13 season third-best scorer with 39 scorer points. After that season he moved back to the ECHL with the San Francisco Bulls . After cessation of game operations in January 2014, Mitchell moved to the South Carolina Stingrays within ECHL in February of the same year .

In May 2014 he decided to move to Europe again and was signed by the Odense Bulldogs and played in the Danish Metal Ligaen from the 2014/15 season . In November 2014 he was voted Player of the Month for the Metal Ligaen. In February 2016 he was named Danish Cup winner with the Bulldogs and a few days later again as Player of the Month . At the end of the 2015/16 main round , Mitchell was the top scorer with 34 goals and top scorer in the Danish elite league with 77 points. A year later he was again the Danish top scorer with 67 points and best assists with 40 assists.

Before the 2018/19 season he left the Bulldogs and was hired by Frederikshavn White Hawks , with whom he reached third place in the Danish championship playoffs and with 19 points scorer was one of the three best and tied players in the finals.

For the 2019/20 season Mitchell was signed by the Dresdner Eislöwen from the DEL2 . With the Eislöwen he was one of the top performers and scored 58 points in 54 games this season. After the end of the season he returned to the Odense Bulldogs.
