Dale Kenton Weise (born August 5, 1988 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League since February 2019 and at the same time for their farm team , the Rocket de Laval , in the American Hockey League plays on the position of the right winger .
Career
Dale Weise began his career as a hockey player with the Swift Current Broncos , for which he was active from 2005 to 2008 in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2008 in the fourth round as a total of 111 players by the New York Rangers . For their farm team Hartford Wolf Pack , which was temporarily renamed Connecticut Whale between 2010 and 2011 , he was active in the American Hockey League from 2008 to 2011 . For the New York Rangers himself he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2010/11 season and remained pointless in ten games. For the 2011/12 season , the winger was committed by NHL competitor Vancouver Canucks , who immediately earned a regular place. The lockout of the 2012/13 NHL season was spent by the Tilburg Trappers in the Dutch Eredivisie . With the resumption of gaming operations, he returned to the Canucks.
In February 2014, Weise was transferred to the Canadiens de Montréal in exchange for Raphael Diaz and was part of the squad there for the next two years. With 29 scorer points , he completed his best year in statistical terms and was well on the way to surpass this mark again by February 2016. After almost exactly two years with the Canadiens, the attacker was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks in February 2016 together with Tomáš Fleischmann in exchange for Phillip Danault and a second-round vote in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft . In Chicago, Weise ended the 2015/16 season , but only prepared one goal in 15 appearances. He also received no contract with the Blackhawks, so he joined the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent in July 2016 .
Statistically, the Flyers could not match his performances from his time in Montréal, but remained a regular player until the 2018/19 season. After playing in the AHL for the first time since the 2010/11 season, he was transferred to the Canadiens de Montréal in February 2019 together with the Swede Christian Folin , which he returned to his old place of work. In return, the Habs gave the players Byron Froese and David Schlemko to the Flyers.
