Daniel Mark Eberhard (* 1976 in Isny ) is a German music teacher and musician. He has been Professor of Music Education and Music Didactics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt since 2015 .

Life

Daniel Mark Eberhard worked as a research assistant at the chair for music education at the University of Augsburg from 2007 to 2014 after completing his teacher training course with the subjects of music and mathematics as well as school service and accompanying teaching assignments (2002–2007) . After a substitute professorship at the Leopold Mozart Center of the University of Augsburg and a two-year visiting professorship at the University of the Arts Berlin , he accepted the professorship for music education and music didactics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in the 2015/2016 winter semesteron. In addition to his academic work, is an internationally active, multiple award-winning artist, speaker in teacher training and author of numerous didactic publications. He is also active nationwide in association and committee work.

Scientific activity

Daniel Mark Eberhard's academic work and interests include the subject areas of heterogeneity / diversity and inclusion in connection with the Anglo-American concept of "community music", music didactics and empirical teaching research, regional music education research and extracurricular music education. After working as a teacher at secondary school and grammar school , as a lecturer at the University of Augsburg and at the University of Music Nuremberg-Augsburg between 2002 and 2007 and as a research assistant at the chair for music education at the University of Augsburg from 2007, he received his doctorate on the topic of causes of teaching disorders in music with Rudolf-Dieter Kraemer . A substitute professorship at the Leopold Mozart Center of the University of Augsburg in the winter semester 2013/2014 was followed by a visiting professor for music education at the University of the Arts Berlin from the summer semester 2014 up to and including the winter semester 2015/2016 . In the 2015/2016 winter semester, he accepted a professorship for music education and music didactics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . Since October 2015 Daniel Mark Eberhard has been 1st chairman of the working group of music didactics at Bavarian music colleges and universities, since November 2016 a member of the Presidium of the Bavarian Music Council , since July 2018 a member of the "Federal Committee on Education" of the German Music Council . In addition to his national and international activities as a speaker at music education conferences and teacher training courses, he has published numerous music education and music didactic publications. Since 2000 he has also been active as a music pedagogue and specialist accompanist for scientific studies in the field of promoting the next generation of children and young people. a. for the Bavarian State Youth Jazz Orchestra. He is the initiator of the European-wide unique master’s course "Inclusive Music Education / Community Music" at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . In 2018 he turned down an offer for the W3 professorship for music and its didactics at the PH Weingarten . In the same year he was appointed to the "Federal Education Committee" of the German Music Council. Since 2019 he has been the 2nd speaker of the Conference on Music Education at Scientific Universities (KMpWH).

Artistic activity

Daniel Mark Eberhard works primarily in the fields of jazz , blues , soul , singer-songwriter , pop music , world music , crossover and has been hired as a pianist, keyboardist, Hammond organist and accordionist at (inter) national classical and jazz festivals ( e.g. Jazz Festival Bankso / Bulgaria 1998, 2012 and 2018, Varna Summer International Jazz Festival / Bulgaria 2012, Jazz Festival Val di Fiemme / Italy 2005, Jazz Festival Prague / Czech Republic 2006, Braunschweig Classix Festival 2000, 2001, 2007, 2008, Jazzfest Munich 2009, HarzClassixFestival 2017), Wendelstein Jazz & Blues Open 2019.

He worked u. a. together with Jacques Loussier and André Arpino (France), Darioush Shirvani (Iran), Seref Dalyanoglu (Turkey), Layth Abdul Ameer (Iraq), Njamy Sitson (Cameroon), Bobby Shew , Chico Freeman , Gil Kaupp (USA), Andy Haderer , Joo Kraus , Melanie Bong , Claus Reichstaller , Sebastian Studnitzky , Harald Rüschenbaum , Rüdiger Baldauf , Jörg Widmoser , Stephan Holstein, Michael Lutzeier, Anajo (all Germany), the German writer Thomas Brussig and the Austrian actress Christiane Hörbiger . In addition to CD and radio productions, Daniel Mark Eberhard works as arranger and musical director for TV productions (e.g. “Lost Standards”. Central opening ceremony of the Week of Brotherhood. ZDF 2010). His arrangement activities include a. the only jazz arrangement to date of the complete opera " Der Freischütz " by Carl Maria von Weber . He is the founder of the Uni Big Band Augsburg, which he led until 2015, and the pop orchestra of the University of Augsburg. With the pop orchestra in 2008, together with the pop band Anajo, he carried out a media-acclaimed tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2010 he became an endorsement artist at Hammond , 2011 at Hohner and 2012 at the instrument manufacturer Korg .

Daniel Mark Eberhard is also the initiator and founding member of the Augsburg Jazz Club eV
