Daniel N. Seel
Daniel N. Seel (born November 11, 1970 in Saarbrücken ) is a German pianist , composer , theologian and Protestant parish priest .
Vita
Seel first studied as a preschooler majoring in piano, then from 1989 to 1998 as a full student at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe , as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation at the Seoul National University in Seoul (South Korea) and as a master class student at the University of the Arts in Berlin piano, composition, music theory and traditional Korean music (with Günter Reinhold, Wolfgang Rihm , Walter Zimmermann and Sukhi Kang, among others ) and worked as a freelance pianist and composer from 1998 to 2014 .
From 1999 to 2000, Seel organized a series of concerts and readings in Berlin and Saarbrücken with new music and Swiss literature sponsored by Pro Helvetia and the Ernst von Siemens Cultural Foundation. From 2003 to 2004 he taught composition major and score playing minor at Seoul National University , Sangmyung University and Sungshin Women's University in Seoul. In 2004, Seel and Matthias R. Entreß were responsible for the conception and artistic direction of the festival and the concert tour “urban + aboriginal XVI: old and new music from korea” with over 30 events in Berlin, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Leipzig.
In the fall of 2009, Seel began studying at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, which he completed in 2014 with a diploma and the first theological exam. After the vicariate in Zweibrücken-Mitte and the second theological exam, Daniel Seel was appointed as parish priest in the monastery town of Hornbach on March 1, 2017 by the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate (Protestant regional church) .
