The Denderstreek or Denderland is a region in East Flanders in central Belgium. It is named after the Dender River. Although the river flows through three provinces ( Hainaut , East Flanders and Flemish Brabant ), only the part of the river in East Flanders is called Denderstreek. The Dutch word streek means area. Denderstreek means dender area . Most of the Denderstreek is in the Scheldeland, the rest is part of the Flemish Ardennes .
