German table tennis championship 2015
The 83rd national German table tennis championship took place from March 6th to 8th, 2015 in Chemnitz in the Chemnitz Arena .
In this championship nobody could defend the title from the previous year. Timo Boll showed himself to be clearly superior to the rest of the competition and became German individual champion for the tenth time. This makes him the sole record holder after Eberhard Schöler and Conny Freundorfer won the title nine times. Steffen Mengel and Benedikt Duda won the men's doubles . Petrissa Solja won the trophy twice , namely in the women's singles and in the doubles with Sabine Winter .
Germany's national players Dimitrij Ovtcharov , Bastian Steger , Patrick Baum , Shan Xiaona , Irene Ivancan , Zhenqi Barthel and Han Ying were absent due to illness, Christian Süß preferred to prepare for his Abitur.
A mixed competition did not take place. All main rounds were played in the KO system, namely according to the best-of-seven mode (four winning sets required), the doubles before the quarterfinals as best-of-five (three winning sets required). The individual fights were preceded by group games in which the active players with the lowest number of values had to qualify for the main field.
