Dezron L. Douglas (born February 19, 1981 in Hartford , Connecticut ) is an American musician ( double bass , composition ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Dezron Douglas grew up in Hartford (Connecticut) and grew up in a musical environment; his uncle was the jazz drummer Walter Bolden . His mentor was Jackie McLean , in whose Institute of African American Music he studied at the Hartt School of Music . There he worked a. a. with Nat Reeves , Steve Davis, and Jackie McLean; He also played with musicians such as René McLean , Jimmy Greene , Alan Jay Palmer , Abraham Burton and Eric McPherson . The first recordings were made in 2005 with drummer Michael Carvin . In the course of his career so far he has played a. a. with Pharoah Sanders , George Cables , Al Foster , Billy Drummond , Victor Lewis , Winard Harper , Mulgrew Miller , Brandee Younger , Makaya McCraven , Lewis Nash , Kevin Mahogany , Carla Cook , Kenny Garrett , Steve Coleman , Willie Jones III , Duane Eubanks , Eric Reed , Tomasz Stańko , Vincent Herring and the Marsalis family. He was also a co-founder of the New Jazz Workshop of Hartford ; In 2012 the group's debut album, Underground was released .

Douglas has taught at The Artist Collective in Hartford and Martocchio Music in Simsbury. He currently works in the bands of Louis Hayes , Ravi Coltrane , Papo Vázquez and Cyrus Chestnut ; He presented several albums under his own name.
