history

The existence of the double community in the Nassau district of Langen-Schwalbach has been documented since 1843 after a merger of Dickschied and Geroldstein . In 1846, Dickschied and Gerolstein had 479 residents in 96 families. Mayor was Johann Philipp Dönges. In that year the population of the double community had reached its all-time high, which was not exceeded in any other year of its existence, not even by the influx of refugees after the Second World War.

In the real estate register both districts were the district combined Dickenschied-Geroldstein.

On December 31, 1971 , Dickschied-Geroldstein merged voluntarily with 15 other municipalities to form the municipality of Heidenrod as part of the regional reform in Hesse . For each of the two districts of Dickschied and Geroldstein, a separate local district with a local advisory board was established. The local district of Geroldstein was limited to corridor 8 of the Dickschied-Geroldstein district and corridor 9 to the field properties in the valley.
