The Wispersee in the Wisper district

Wisper is a district of the municipality of Heidenrod in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse .

geography

Wisper is located two kilometers from the source of the Wisper on a slope above the southern left bank of the Wisper . Located on the northeastern border of the Wispertaunus , Wisper is surrounded by the Mappershainer Kopf in the north, the highest mountain in the western Hintertaunus at 548 meters , whose southern shoulder looks down on the place as the Wisperer Kopf , while the Röderkopf is to the south and the Platte to the east . To the west of the village, a little down the Wisper, lies the Wispersee , a 200-meter-long reservoir. The small town is surrounded by some agriculture and a number of extensive forest valleys.

The character of the area around Wisper as a near-natural recreational area and the proximity to the economically strong Rhine-Main area contribute significantly to the residential value of the place.

history

In 1265 Wisper was first mentioned in a document under the name Wisshebure .

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Wisper merged with 15 other municipalities on December 31, 1971 on a voluntary basis to form the municipality of Heidenrod . For Wisper, as for all other districts, a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor was set up.

Culture and sights

Historic bakery

The old bakery from 1751, the Backes , has been restored true to the original and forms the center and eye-catcher of the village.

The Wispertaunus , in which Wisper is located, is one of the most densely forested parts of the Taunus and has largely been designated as an FFH area. In addition, the region is part of the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park , which aims to enable people to relax in a natural environment.

traffic

The L 3455 to Kemel runs from the neighboring town of Springen over the ridge, on whose northern slope Wisper lies . Wisper is connected to this with a spur road. This is the only access to the place. In Kemel there is a connection to the federal road 260 , which leads north to the road to Laufenselden , the central district of Heidenrod. In a southerly direction one reaches the district town Bad Schwalbach , as well as Wiesbaden and the Rhine-Main area on the federal road .
