According to the number of inhabitants, Huppert is the fourth largest district of the municipality of Heidenrod in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse .
geography
Huppert is located in the Taunus in the most densely wooded municipality in Hesse in Heidenrod. The Dörsbach flows from the source at Erlenhof on its course to the north, first west past Huppert and further through the Hintertaunus towards Lahn and is accompanied by the Dörsbach-Mühlenwanderweg . The Upper German-Raetian Limes ran just north-east of the village . To the north-west of the village, already beyond the municipal boundary, the small fort "Auf dem Dörsterberg" above the Dörsbach has been identified as a ground monument .
Neighboring towns are Kemel in the south and Laufenselden in the north, the main town of Heidenrod.
history
The earliest surviving documentary evidence proves the existence of the place Hupenrod since 1250, in connection with the inheritance of the Katzenelnbog counts Diether and Eberhard . On this occasion, Huppert celebrated a 750th anniversary in 2000.
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Huppert merged with 15 other municipalities on December 31, 1971 on a voluntary basis to form the municipality of Heidenrod . For Huppert, as for all other districts, a local district with a local advisory board and a local mayor was set up.
Religions
Catholic and Protestant Christians live in Huppert. However, there is no church, and the parish center of the Catholic Church was sold in summer 2008, which is why Huppert no longer has a church facility. The Protestant parish of Kemel and the Catholic parish of Laufenselden are responsible for Huppert.
Culture and sights
The “ Limes- Rundwanderweg” with the small fort on the Dörsterberg and the “Dörsbach-Mühlenwanderweg” are used for tourism, which is still in the initial phase. Information boards were set up and inaugurated along the 3 km long route on October 31, 2007. The texts on it can be read in German as well as in English and French.
It is assumed that the listed old village well on the corner of Napoleonstrasse and Schulstrasse, a draw well called Rollborn , existed as the oldest water supply for the place even before it was first mentioned. The ancient well shape with the semicircular arched walling open to the front is rare in the district.
societies
In Huppert the largest clubs are the gymnastics and sports club Huppert (football), Huppert volunteer fire brigade , Backes zur Customs care e. V., the Heidenroder musicians, the Huppert youth club and the Huppert music train.
Theater & cabaret
The theater group Huppert puts on a play every year and is also known beyond the borders of Heidenrod.
Buildings
The fort "Auf dem Dörsterberg" from Roman times was found outside Huppert . The Hessian Limes and with it this fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
Sports
TuS Huppert 1950 eV resumed its gaming operations in 2006 after six years. The Huppert gymnastics club and the Huppert shooting club (Hubertusschützen) as well as the Ambrosius gymnastics group and the Huppert gymnastics group also exist in Huppert.
Regular events
The first party of the year is the CDU Huppert's barbecue , which has been taking place on Labor Day every year for 30 years . Since 2005 there has been a festival on Ascension Day , organized by the local restaurant . There are also baking and pizza festivals organized by Backes zur Customs Care eV. In addition, the Huppert volunteer fire brigade organizes a Christmas party every year and, together with the Huppert music train, the event "Songs under the Christmas tree" on December 22nd.
Economy and Infrastructure
traffic
Huppert is not far from the B 260 , known as Bäderstraße , the most important traffic route in Heidenrod. The L3455 leads directly past the place. The place has only one driveway, so there is no through traffic. A bus stop connects Huppert with the public transport network.
The Rheingau-Taunus-Verkehrsgesellschaft (RTV) is the local public transport company in the Rheingau-Taunus district . She is a partner in the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund . Huppert is served by bus lines 203 and 591, which lead north via Laufenselden to Katzenelnbogen and in the opposite direction to Kemel. From there there are connections to the district town of Bad Schwalbach and Wiesbaden . Since December 2013 there has been a direct connection to Wiesbaden again on Sundays.
The German Limes Cycle Route runs through the village . This follows the Upper German-Raetian Limes over 818 km from Bad Hönningen on the Rhine to Regensburg on the Danube .
Companies
Trafo Zerbe was the largest company based in Huppert until the owner's death. The Mitsubishi car company is also represented with a dealership.
media
Until 2006, “Der Rollborn”, an information sheet published by the local advisory board at the time, was published monthly. Named after the local fountain, to be found in the center of the village, birthdays of people aged 70 and over could be read, dates were also published and news from the village was announced. The local soccer club TuS Huppert has also been publishing TuS News on home games and special events since 2007, in which the club’s match reports can be read.
education
Huppert's primary school students attend the bat school in Laufenselden . Secondary schools for the pupils are the Nikolaus-August-Otto-Schule in Bad Schwalbach and the Aartalschule in Aarbergen- Michelbach. The old school that pupils attended before the primary school was built in Laufenselden is now a residential building.
