The tenth season of the German emergency and rescue series Die Rettungsflieger celebrated its premiere on September 28, 2005 on ZDF . The final was broadcast on December 14, 2005.

The first six episodes of the tenth season premiered on Wednesday evening on the 7:25 pm slot. Episodes 7 and 8 were broadcast for the first time on Wednesday evening at 7:25 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., one after the other. The other episodes of the season were then shown again on the Wednesday evening before the 7:25 pm slot. Since the television series was discontinued in 2007, the episodes have been repeated regularly in the afternoon program on ZDF and in the afternoon and evening programs on ZDFneo .

Colonel Ralph Brandt, the commodore, has his adjutant, Lieutenant Deffke, announce his imminent visit. While Dr. Sabine Petersen, who has just separated from Brandt, shows unimpressed pilot Jens Blank and on-board technician Jan Wollcke, but then the rescue pilots are called to an accident in the port of Hamburg: Two young people are with an illegal car race her car raced over the quay wall. A friend manages to pull the young accident driver out of the wreck, but any help comes too late for his girlfriend. When the rescue pilots have just returned from a mission, they are hindered by a car landing at the rescue center. The rescue pilots are called to a heart attack patient, but during the landing, the SAR 71 is hindered by an unruly car driver. Pilot Jens Blank wants to talk to the man about his misconduct, but the driver reacts quickly and hits the captain with a black eye. When Dr. Sabine Petersen treated her colleague's injury a little later in the rescue center and wants to report the rescue helicopter, which is unable to fly without a pilot, when the next order comes. Jens Blank immediately storms to the machine, but is prevented from flying by Commodore Colonel Ralph Brandt, who is now taking over the SAR 71. An unfamiliar situation for the crew, but they now have to concentrate fully on the next mission: a serious car accident. While the daughter of a married couple only suffers a leg fracture, the rescuers can no longer help the father and the mother has also suffered serious injuries, so that she has to be taken to the army hospital as quickly as possible. But the mother also dies the next night in the army hospital. This situation throws the young Sybille Liebermann completely off track. Emergency doctor Dr. Sabine Petersen tries to stand by the girl, even though they don't leave the events indifferent either.

The rescue pilots are called to see a girl with drug poisoning and suspected rape. When Dr. Sabine Petersen meets the girl's parents a little later in the hospital, they are shocked. When the crew arrives at the rescue center a little later, a surprising visitor is waiting for Captain Jens Blank: his mother Hilde. When a solid argument breaks out a little later, the teammates try to mediate, but their pilot remains stubborn until he learns of his mother's plans. Now the end of work is waiting for the crew: While Dr. Sabine Petersen goes to the cinema with Sybille Liebermann, Jens Blank, Jan Wollcke and Johannes vom Storkow want to have a cozy evening together with Tatjana Jovic, the friend of the paramedic von Storkow. But Ivo, Tatjana's ex-husband, harasses them and has to be escorted outside by the rescue pilot. The next morning, the members of the crew are called to a young couple who have stayed in a converted hearse and who now have to be rescued from the car because of insufficient ventilation. Meanwhile, the jealous Ivo plans to kill himself and Tatjana by blowing up the house. Large-scale operation for the police, fire brigade and SAR 71, who are now trying everything to save Tatjana. Jan Wollcke tries to free them, but when Ivo holds the lighter up to the gas pipe, there is an explosion in which the on-board technician is injured and now has to be flown to the army hospital by his colleagues himself.

Dr. Sabine Petersen and Sybille "Bille" Liebermann have a heated argument after the girl leaves the emergency doctor's apartment with a bouquet of flowers. When the latter corrects their colleagues a little later, they are interrupted by Homann, whose pregnant friend Cora has fallen. Meanwhile, "Bille" is in the cemetery to commemorate her father's birthday. She meets 16-year-old Martin, whose grandfather is currently being buried. When Martin's grandmother collapses, the rescue pilots arrive. While Sabine Petersen and Johannes von Storkow are looking after their grandmother, pilot Jens Blank discovers Sybille and talks to her. A little later, the rescuers are called to a young man who drank lye while cleaning up after a birthday party.
