action
In a dream, Tommi Pickels goes on a trip into the jungle and has to flee from the wild animals that want to attack him. He feels big and strong like the wildlife expert Heinrich Gooseberry and would like to become like him one day. But when he wakes up he's just sitting in the sandpit with the other children. His big sister mock him that he will never have a real adventure anyway. It's just a diaper baby full of dreams. That offends him and his grandfather Lou comforts him a little. Tommi's parents plan to go on vacation to the South China Sea for seven days . The pickles are so excited and full of anticipation that they miss the ship's departure. Captain Stu Pickles offers them to follow them in his small boat “MS Nancy”. Those who stayed behind accept the offer and the Pickles family set off on a journey with the Finster family, the DeVilles, Susie Carmichael and Spike. On their journey, they get caught in a storm and are shipwrecked . You are stranded on an uninhabited island. While the adults go into the interior of the island in search of something to eat, Stu is supposed to take care of the children. But since he is so busy lighting a signal fire, he does not notice how the rascals go on an expedition themselves. They finally experience real adventures and even meet Tommi's idol, Heinrich Stachelbeere, who is looking for a clouded leopard on this island with his wife and daughter . He tries to get the children out of the jungle, where too many dangers lurk. It doesn't take long for the clouded leopard to appear and hunt the children. Tommi is sure that nothing can happen to them when the great Heinrich Gooseberry is with them. They seek refuge in a cave, where they are found by Angelica, who went in search of them after the babies disappeared. In doing so, she got into the camp of the gooseberry family, where she went on a journey with their submarine and got into the underground cave lake. Together they make their way back to their parents, who are already waiting excitedly for them on the beach. After experiencing more dangerous adventures on their underwater voyage, their parents are overjoyed to have all of their children safe and sound. With the help of the radio that the gooseberry family has with them on their expedition, they can call for help and come back home from the island.

A number of film references are built in for adults, ranging from ' Titanic ' to ' The Poseidon Hell's Journey ' to ' Planet of the Apes '. An, Robinson Crusoe 'disappearance - Castaway ' and especially to TV classics, Gilligan's Iceland naturally recalls' the premise, which can be stranded which Rugrats' families to ship boats travel on a seemingly deserted island "Otherwise could". the comparatively rudimentary style of animation [...] of course nowhere near the water of the latest Pixar blockbuster 'Finding Nemo'.
