Peter Weis (* in Bremen ; bourgeois Peter Weis-Briel ) is a German actor , voice actor , radio play speaker and audio book interpreter .

From 1960 to 1963, Peter Weis completed his acting studies at the Hanover University of Music and Theater . During his training he performed in the cabaret Die Alte Leier . His diploma was followed by a three-year engagement at what was then the State Theater, today's State Theater in Darmstadt , followed by a two-year engagement at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen . There Weis acted as Mortimer in Friedrich Schiller's tragedy Maria Stuart and in Autobus S by Raymond Queneau . During the 1968/69 season, Peter Weis was active at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg , including as Moritz Spiegelberg in Schiller's drama Die Räuber , a production that was also recorded by ARD. Further stations were the Hamburger Kammerspiele , the Hamburg Theater im Zimmer under the direction of Gerda Gmelin and the Hamburg Kleckstheater, in which Weis appeared in various youth plays. In 1981 he took on the leading role of Lieutenant Vukhov in the war monodrama The Judgment by Barry Collins in the Hamburg Trieb und Feder Theater . In this two and a half hour solo play, which is based on a true story, a soldier defends his survival at the expense of his comrades before a military tribunal that is identical to the theater audience and is supposed to judge the captain's sanity. In 1990 Weis acted in the role of Assessor Brack in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler at the Theater im Zimmer in Hamburg. In the context of cabaret performances, Weis occasionally appears today with Henning Venske in Alma Hoppe's comedy theater .

Peter Weis has been working as a freelancer since 1969. In addition to his theater work, he initially worked as a speaker for several radio companies in the form of radio plays, radio features and literary readings.
