Eduard von Nostitz and Jänckendorf

Eduard Gottlob von Nostitz and Jänckendorf (born March 31, 1791 in Dresden ; † February 18, 1858 ibid) was a German manor owner , lawyer and politician. He was the brother of the member of the state parliament Julius Gottlob von Nostitz and Jänkendorf .

His parents were the Saxon conference minister Gottlob Adolf Ernst von Nostitz and Jänkendorf and his wife Henriette Sophia, née von Bose . One of his brothers was the Saxon politician.

Live and act

He received his education in Schulpforta . He then studied at the Universities of Leipzig and Heidelberg the law . In Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Holsatia in 1811 . In 1813 he entered the army in Prussia and reached the rank of officer in the infantry of the Lützow Corps . After the partition of Saxony, he began a civil career in the Kingdom of Saxony . First he was in 1819 Amtshauptmann in Dresden and Pirna right of the Elbe, Radeberg , Stolpen , Hohnstein and Lohmen . As early as 1821 he was appointed as a secret trainee lawyer at the Secret Council Chancellery. In 1826 he took over the office of the Chamber Loan Commissioner and became a secret finance councilor at the secret finance college. Under Bernhard von Lindenau , he took over the management of the Saxon Ministry of the Interior in 1836 , which he headed as Minister until July 1844, when he retired due to illness. He retired to his Oppach estate in Upper Lusatia , which he had taken over from his father. He had it rebuilt in 1844. From 1845 to 1847 he was still a member of the State Council and then until 1850 a judge at the State Court.

There is evidence that Nostitz was canon of the Protestant monastery in Wurzen from 1810 , later also canon and senior of the Meissen monastery and provost of the St. Petri cathedral in Bautzen . As an authorized representative of the Meissen Monastery, he was a member of the First Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament from 1833/34 and from 1854 to 1858 . In Dresden he was a member of the Masonic lodge Zum golden Apfel .

He married Erdmuthe von Beschwitz on November 27, 1816 (* January 28, 1798, † July 17, 1821). The couple had several children:
