Eduard Heldberg
Eduard Heldberg (born July 1, 1829 in Hanover , † September 4, 1891 in Trier ) was a German architect and a Hanoverian and Prussian construction officer .
Life
family
Eduard Heldberg was the brother-in-law of the architect Christian Heinrich Tramm and thus also related to the Hanover city director Heinrich Tramm .
Career
Eduard Heldberg studied from 1845 to 1849 at the Polytechnic School in Hanover and is considered a representative of the round arch style . After serving as until 1859 farming - apprentice in Northeim worked, he was in Hanover with his brother Heinrich Christian Tramm first foreman and after death Tramms 1861 sole construction manager for the Main Building .
Based on an idea by Tramm, Heldberg designed and built the Marstall near the Welfenschloss , which is still partially preserved today , and which later served as a stable for the King's Uhlans .
In addition to other buildings, Heldberg designed and built the (not preserved) House Bernstorff in Königstrasse for Christian Bernstorff (* December 24, 1794; † April 7, 1869), the co-founder of the royal court bronze foundry Bernstorff & Eichwede .
After the annexation of the Kingdom of Hanover , Heldberg entered the Prussian civil service and worked in Minden in particular from 1873 .
In 1877 and later, Heldberg worked in Trier from 1887 to 1891, where he was in charge of the restoration of Trier Cathedral from 1883 . Most recently, Heldberg rose to become a secret government and building councilor .
