Espen Andersen (born July 12, 1961 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Andersen began his international career with the start at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1982 , where he won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Hallstein Bøgseth and Tom Sandberg . On December 17, 1983, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Seefeld in Tirol . He reached the top 10 straight away. On March 8, 1984, he won his first and only World Cup race in Oslo. At the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 , he landed in the individual combination in 19th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1984 in Rovaniemi , he won the gold medal with the team. A year later in Seefeld at the 1985 World Cup , he won silver with the team. He finished the 1985/86 season as his most successful season in ninth place in the overall World Cup standings. In 1987 Andersen ended his active career.

Andersen won the Norwegian championship title in team competition in 1983, 1985 and 1986. A single title was denied to him until the end of his career.
