history
The old name of the district was Çıkınağıl, it was only renamed to Evren in 1982 after the then incumbent President Kenan Evren . Çıkınağıl belonged to Şereflikoçhisar and became a locality in 1963. 1957 Çıkınağıl was elsewhere. After the construction of the Hirfanlı reservoir, the city sank into the reservoir and therefore had to be relocated. In 1990 Evren separated from Şereflikoçhisar and became a district with nine villages.
