Ferry (Peterfitz)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ferry is a deserted area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The former residential area is located in Western Pomerania about 110 kilometers northeast of Stettin on the left bank of the Persante River and about two kilometers west of the village Włościbórz (Lustebuhr) in the Gmina Dygowo area . Opposite, on the right bank of the Persante, there is another deserted area of the same name, the Fähre living space that used to belong to Zwilipp .

history

A ferry station at this point has been handed down since the 18th century. In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), a "management at the ferry" is mentioned as an accessory from Lustebuhr . It is also mentioned that here over the Persante "the Poststrasse runs from Colberg to Cörlin by means of the so-called ferry bridge".

The commander of the Kolberg Fortress, Colonel Ludwig Moritz von Lucadou , had the bridge destroyed in 1806 when French troops approached. Heinrich Berghaus lamented the lack of the bridge in the land register of the Duchy of Pomerania and the Principality of Rügen (1867) with clear words: He regrets “that, despite the most urgent need, they were not moved to rebuild the bridge, and are therefore through the 7 mile long course of the Persante from Körlin to Kolberg at times both banks are completely separated from each other, (...) because at any higher water level the existing two ferries are quite impractical ”. In Berghaus, the ferry is described as a suburb of Lustebuhr that was leased to a subcontractor.

When a road bridge was built over the Persante about a kilometer upstream in 1882, the ferry service began. The previous ferry farm (Vorwerk) remained. On the official measuring table sheet as of 1940, there is even a passenger ferry at this point, unlike on earlier versions of the measuring table sheet.

In 1816 there were 22 inhabitants in Fähre, in 1895 nine inhabitants and in 1905 13 inhabitants. The residential area belonged to the Lustebuhr estate until 1928 . With Lustebuhr, the residential area was incorporated into the Peterfitz community in 1928 . Until 1945 Fähre then formed a place to live in the municipality of Peterfitz and belonged with this to the Kolberg-Körlin district . After 1945, the place of residence came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. Today the place is desolate .
