Faran Tahir (* 16th February 1963 in Los Angeles , California as Faran Tahir Haroon ) is a Pakistani - American actor .

Life

Tahir was born in Los Angeles as the first child of a Muslim family of actors. His Pakistani parents were studying directing and acting at the University of California (UCLA) at the time of his birth . His father Naeem Tahir is now Director General of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts. Tahir's family, parents, brother Ali and sister-in-law Wajeeah Tahir are well-known television personalities in Pakistan.

Tahir grew up in Pakistan but returned to Los Angeles in 1980 at the age of 17 to study theater at the University of California, Berkeley . He graduated from UCLA and also from the Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University .

Career

In 2009 he became known to a larger audience in the role of Captain Robau in the reinterpretation of Star Trek .
