Fedez [ 'fɛːdets ] (* 15. October 1989 in Milan as Federico Leonardo Lucia ) is an Italian rapper .

Career

Fedez attended art high school (liceo artistico) , but dropped out of school the year before last to devote himself to music. He began his rap career with the self-produced album Penisola che non c'è , which he made available online as a free download. In the same year, in collaboration with the independent label Tanta Roba , the second album Il mio primo disco da venduto followed .

In 2012 the rapper could be heard on the album Hanno ucciso l'Uomo Ragno 2012 by Max Pezzali . The following year he released his first album on a major label ( Sony Music ), Sig. Brainwash - L'arte di accontentare , which immediately rose to the top of the album charts. Together with the X-Factor winner Francesca Michielin , he also made it into the top ten of the single charts with the single Cigno nero . Afterwards Fedez went on tour for the first time.

In 2013, the rapper appeared for the first time on the casting show X Factor as a guest juror; in the next edition in 2014 he was a permanent member of the jury (among others alongside Mika ). The winner of this edition was Lorenzo Fragola from Fedez's team; Fedez then also took care of the management of his candidate. In the same year he brought out his next album Pop-Hoolista , which could build on the success of the previous album and again contained a number of duets. Again together with Francesca Michielin, his single Magnifico was able to reach the top of the single charts for the first time ; the song was also the most successful Italian song of the year in Italy.

In 2015, Fedez was again a juror at X Factor. The band he supervised, Urban Strangers, landed only in second place in the finals, but was superior to the winner in the charts. 2016 brought a joint project with J-Ax , from which the two number one singles Vorrei ma non posto and Assenzio emerged ; The collaboration album Comunisti col Rolex by J-Ax & Fedez was released in 2017, followed by the summer hit Senza pagare . In April 2018 it was announced that the duo will split up and Italiana will be their last single together. This song also became a summer hit.

Fedez has been married to blogger and influencer Chiara Ferragni since 2018 . The couple have a son and live in Milan.
