The Diyarbakir airport ( Turkish Diyarbakir Havalimanı ) is a Turkish airport immediately southwest of the city Diyarbakir in the southeast of the country. It is operated by the state DHMI . The airport was originally built in 1952 and is still in operation after several renovations and is used for military and civil purposes. The city of Diyarbakır assigned to him is about three to six kilometers away. It can be reached by taxi, private car or airport bus via the D-950 highway.
Airport grounds
It has a terminal with a capacity of 1,450,000 passengers per year and a paved runway, which, however, does not have an instrument flight landing system (ILS). The apron has a size of 165 × 155 meters and can accommodate three commercial aircraft. A terminal with a size of 2680 square meters is available for the passengers. There is a parking lot for 200 cars in front of the terminal.

The new building (new terminal) was inaugurated in September 2015. The aging airport was renewed and expanded. In addition to the new terminal with six passenger boarding bridges and a capacity of five million passengers per year, the airport has received a new parking garage and an enlarged apron.

The Diyarbakır airport is regularly connected to several airports in Turkey by the airlines Pegasus Airlines , Turkish Airlines and others, with Turkish Airlines responsible for around 75 percent of passengers. Since the opening of the new terminal, SunExpress has connected several German airports with Diyarbakır .
