The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (formerly the Football Federation of Brunei Darussalam ) is the highest football body in Brunei . It is the successor to the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam, which was dissolved in 2008. The association was founded after the dissolution of BAFA in 2008 as it lost its registration due to the late submission of financial reports.

The association was a member of FIFA from 1969 to 2008 and of the Asian Football Confederation from 1970 to 2008 , but lost these memberships with the dissolution of the original association. The association is now a member of FIFA again.

He was a founding member of the ASEAN Football Federation in 1984 .

history

The association was founded in 1952 under the name "Brunei State Amateur Football Association (BSAFA)" and formally registered on March 12, 1956, and became a member of The Football Association in England . In 1969 the association was renamed "Brunei Amateur Football Association (BAFA)". In 1993 it was renamed the "Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (BAFA)", as it was no longer a pure amateur sport in Brunei at the time.
