The New York City Formula E Circuit is a temporary street circuit for races of the FIA Formula E Championship in New York City with a length of 1.2 miles. On July 15, 2017, a race took place on this track for the first time as part of the 2016/17 season .
The course runs on public roads in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn , in the area of the port facilities of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal . It runs clockwise and, when it was first run in 2017, consisted of ten curves.
The route was changed in 2018 : Instead of a 180-degree right-hand bend at the end of the back straight, the route now turned to the left, followed by three right-hand bends with different radii. In the course of these changes, the route length increased from 1.947 km to 2.373 km.
In 2019 the route was changed again: the pit lane and the finish line were relocated to the back straight, which thus became the start-finish straight . The straight on which the finish line was previously located has been shortened to make room for the paddock of the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy, which was held there for the first time . The new route length was 2.320 km.
