The New York City E-Prix 2019 (officially: 2019 New York City E-Prix ) took place on July 13 and 14 at the New York City Formula E circuit in New York City and was the twelfth and thirteenth races of the FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19 . After the Bern E-Prix , Jean-Éric Vergne led the drivers' standings with 32 points ahead of Lucas di Grassi and with 43 points ahead of Mitch Evans . Race day one

In the first free practice, Alexander Sims set the fastest time with a lap time of 1: 09.959 minutes, ahead of Sébastien Buemi and Robin Frijns .

Qualifying

Buemi was fastest with a lap time of 1: 10.556 minutes.

The six fastest drivers then drove in the first six positions in the individual time trial called Superpole . Buemi secured pole position with a lap time of 1: 10.188 minutes and thus three points. The other positions were occupied by Pascal Wehrlein , Alex Lynn , Daniel Abt , Sims and Bird.

The race lasted 45 minutes plus one lap. Each driver had to activate the attack mode twice; after activation, the vehicle produced a maximum of 225 kW instead of 200 kW for a period of four minutes.

Buemi won the race ahead of Evans and Félix da Costa. It was his 13th victory in the FIA ​​Formula E Championship and the first since the Berlin ePrix 2017 . It was also the first win for Nissan as a powertrain manufacturer in the championship. The remaining points placed were occupied by Sims, di Grassi, Abt, Wehrlein, Bird, Jérôme D'Ambrosio and Oliver Turvey . The point for the fastest lap in the top ten went to Abt.

In the only free practice session on day two of the race, D'Ambrosio set the fastest time with a lap time of 1: 09.712 minutes ahead of Robin Frijns and Sims. The training had to be interrupted because of a loose manhole cover and after an accident by Gary Paffett shortly before the end of the training.
